Finishing
Now to create an actual Finishing Quote....
Click the 'Add' button on the bottom of the Quote output screen.
The 'Create New Quote' screen will be displayed. Enter the name of the job, in this case 'Business Cards' and then tab to the client.
Type in the name of the client's company for whom you are preparing this quote and hit the 'Tab' key. If the company does not exist in your database you will be presented with the following dialog box.
Click on the 'Yes' button and you will be presented with the client input screen.
Fill in the client's company details and click the 'Save' button.
You will be returned to the Quote input screen. Fill in the job description and the quantities required. Then click on the 'Finishing General' tab.

This is the screen where the finishing details are added. Select the Popup you require e.g. 'Die Cutting'. Select 'Add Die Cutting Item'.

The 'Qty x' multiplies the quantity set on the 'Job Details' screen by the amount chosen. This is used if you are printing say a number of swing tags and guilotining the sheet prior to die cutting them so if you printed 1,000 sheets you may end up die cutting 4,000 qty x 4.

The 'Sheet 1 Qty' checkbox allows you to set the finishing quantity to that of the number of running sheets, the Sheet 1 quantity. If you are celloglazing businees cards prior to guillotining them you would use this setting as the cards may be printed four up and the finishing quantity is the actual required quantity divided by four.

When you select a particular piece of Finishing Equipment the rates are loaded for that particular piece of equipment. If you wish to modify any of the values for a particular Quote or Job you can. The values are saved with the Quote or Job, and will remain in the Quote or Job unless you reselect the item. To reload the last saved values for a Finishing item reselect the item using the Finish Item popup menu, this will reload the last saved values.

Type in the name of the 'Part' item. e.g. Celloglazing.

Then type in the make ready rate per number of items, the time to make ready and the time to run the per number. In this case the make ready is $10 and the rate is $10 per thousand and 1,000 is the minimum run. So if a job consists of a number less than 1,000 it will be charged at the 1,000 rate.

The 'Base Rate' enables you to add a charged on a per item basis if required. Also enter in the make ready time and the time to run 1,000 items. Then click on the 'Add Finish Item' button and you will see the following request dialog.

Click on the 'Quote Text' tab and enter in the text you wish to appear in your quote if
you choose this item of finishing. Choosing a 'Component Name' will insert the actual value for that item into the Quote or Job text.

Then click on the 'Add Finish Item' button to create the finish item and add it to the quote.

The default title is the name of the job. If you are not adding other items to this job you may choose to use this as the title for this item. Click 'OK' and the print item will be added to the popup at the top right of the screen. Then click on the 'Guillotining' tab.

Select the 'Costing' tab to see the cost of the job.

You can modify the quantities by changing the value next to the 'Quantities' popup and clicking the 'Tab' key.

Here you can add an additional value for outside work or an additional amount to the job, for difficulty etc. You can type in detail for the amount and optionally include the text in the quote by clicking the checkbox to the right of the details field.

You can also modify the Subtotal by typing in another amount which will be retained if the Auto Recalculate checkbox is not selected. If 'Same Markup' is checked then the same markup will be applied to each quantity, otherwise you can have different markups for each quantity.

The radio button, 'Chosen Quantity' will only print the costing of the quantity chosen in the quantities popup on the quote, whereas 'All Quantities' will print the costings for all quantities on the quote.

Next select the 'Quote Text' tab where you will find a brief description of the job.

If you wish to view the details of the costings for a print job item, double click on the print item.

The job description you wrote on the Job Details screen is included at the top of the quote. You can modify the text if you wish. The 'Retain Text' check box will retain the text you have while recalculating the values for the quote.

You may also only wish to include on the quote the value selected on the 'Costings' screen in which case choose the 'Chosen Quantity' radio button. and select 'Retain Text' and click on the 'Recalculate Quote' button.

Once you are satisfied with the quote it can now be printed. Select 'Print' from the File menu. If you wish to preview the quote prior to printing select 'Preview' in the print dialog box after the 'Print Setup' dialog box.

To print out the job sheets for the complete job click on 'Print Job Sheets' button.

When finishing books the following Finishing screen is used. There are a number of options for finishing books. If you have a piece of equipment you use to finish items you can add it by looking at the existing items and see which type has the same parameters as your equipment and then add and item to that popup.
